The age-old tradition of trick-or-treating is alive and well in our valley – it’s one of our favorite holidays in Yakima, actually. And few neighborhoods celebrate as enthusiastically as Barge Chestnut. Thousands of kids are expected to wander down the streets, going house to house in search of goodies. We just love seeing all the many families out together. Most of the streets in the Barge Chestnut area are closed from 5-8pm to keep everyone safe. Keep an eye out for the little goblins and ghosts this evening. Happy Halloween!

LATE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
Last weekend, the Filipino Hall in Wapato hosted its first annual celebration of Filipino-American History Month. Some history for you: the Hall in Wapato is the first of its kind, built in 1952, and the Yakama Nation played an integral role in establishing the Filipino community in the Valley. Lastly, everyone asks about the food. Worry not, Buzzfeed has it covered. A tip from our heart to yours: the Hall serves up Thursday Takeout, where you can get a plate lunch. Call to make sure they're serving. Sometimes, they take breaks.
