The Don't Google it Challenge.

Q:
How many locations are in the Yakima Valley Library system?

Bonus:

Name them.

(Scroll to the end for the answers and a gift.)

Good people of Yakima: we've been on the interwebs, looking around, bookmarking things. Here's a run down of some of the things we are looking forward to checking out in the months to come. Got something we should know about?! Tell us about it!!

New restaurants.
It wouldn’t be a Y365 newsletter if we didn’t talk about food. OMG, we can hardly wait for Ramen-Ya to open on Summitview. (We're drooling and hoping for some tonkatsu broth!) Food trucks are always popping up so we are keeping our eyes peeled. Also, the Fat Pastor is opening his restaurant on Wednesday, February 19th. We stalked the menu and are ready to try it all! Congrats Fat Pastor!
New workouts.
The brand new Starcycle is supposed to open any day now. Yakima has been late to the trendy Spin-centric workout spots of the big cities (like SoulCycle and FlyWheel), and Starcycle looks like Yakima’s answer to that. If you love a sparkly clean, pretty place to get your sweat on, this is for you. AAAANNNNNDDDD…we’ve heard rumors of a few other new workout spots that are percolating. Stay tuned!
Great things to get behind.
La Casa Hogar’s La Escuelita and Cowiche Canyon Conservancy’s potential Uplands land purchase have us all keyed up. Looking for a great organization to cheer? We highly recommend these two. And we’ll add Yakima Pride and the YWCA to this list, too.
Culture and entertainment.
Monica Lewinsky and Kareem Abdul Jabbar speaking at Yakima Town Hall could not be more exciting. The local music scene keeps growing: Single Hill is on it, and who will The Seasons be bringing our way this year? Seattle Rock Orchestra will be playing Pink Floyd (Dark Side of the Moon), and who will replace the amazing show of Federale? Our fingers are crossed that they will make another appearance. Collab Coffee has expanded their hours to reflect the many events that are hosting. Check out the Y365 calendar for more info.
Bigger and better fun events.
The Downtown Yakima Mile, Yakima Taco Fest, Downtown Summer Nights, and of course, the Fresh Hop Ale Festival. What’s next?

be on the lookout.

celebrate.

It's Black History Month. Miss the program at Greater Faith Baptist Church? And the Black History Mobile Museum at YVC? Take a road trip and head over to WSU Tri-Cities. You can hear an oral history of African Americans during the Hanford project on Friday, Feb 21st.
in season.

May is high peony season. Read about our adventure to Adeline's Peonies in Toppenish last year. They open in April. Give them a ring to confirm! We definitely recommend a springtime trip out to there for murals, tacos, AND peonies. Go big and keep driving east to Varietal Beer Company in Sunnyside!
